Counterfeit risk: basic controls for procurement and recovery

Counterfeit risk rises when price looks “too easy” or provenance is vague. For recovery programs, the same discipline applies: treat unknown lots as guilty until documented innocent.

  • Ask for chain-of-custody and original labels where possible.
  • Compare marking, pin finish, and tray/tape consistency against known-good samples.
  • Separate mixed lots; do not commingle questionable inventory with clean stock.

We do not claim lab-grade authentication in a web form workflow—serious programs need partner labs. Our role is to set expectations early and route inventory to the right channel.
